Why Açaí Bowls are Life

Why Açaí Bowls are Life

My latest obsession and go-to treat right now is the beautifully, fun açaí berry!

I had my first açaí bowl when I was vacationing in Surf City, NJ. A small smoothie place called Pyour Pour was a two minute walk from the beach so when the sign caught my eye, I was suddenly craving something guilt free and fruity. I had my first açaí bowl that day, my second the next day, and as soon as I got home, I began googling places closer to where I live so that I could continue to feed my açaí cravings. I was surprised to find that this fit fam trend hasn’t exactly caught fire yet, spreading throughout New England. The juice and smoothie bars in New England are spread pretty far apart and its hard to find too many that are close to a single area. Even so, I got lucky.

The Juice Mill in Bridgewater, MA has been my saving grace since I’ve been home from vacation. This afternoon, I made my 4th trip over to the Juice Mill. Their humble establishment is a beautifully cosy, contemporary nook in Bridgewater Center, just next to an adorable consignment shop and the Town Hall.

They serve everything from açaí bowls and avocado toast, to wheatgrass shots and full on juice cleanses. It’s fantastic. So far, the only things I’ve tried are their açaí bowls but they do such a good job with them that I would recommend trying anything else on their menu. The bowl I got today was the Energy Bowl for $9.

Below, you can check out the açaí menu, as well as the salad menu. My bowl consisted of açaí, banana, spinach, pineapple, matcha (green tea powder), coconut milk, granola, shredded coconut, honey, and blueberries. It was fantastic, as bowls always are!

Açaí is the perfect way to start your day and it has certainly added some fun to mine! The fruit itself originates from the Amazon Rain Forest and is similar to the love child of a grape and a blueberry. They’re a great antioxidant, contain good fatty acids, and fiber. Plus they’re low in sugar and contain a ton of vitamins! Eat em’ up and be sure to check out The Juice Mill in Bridgewater for your next açaí fix!
